How to use the NDI HX Camera App

This guide will walk you through how to turn your phone into a professional live-streaming camera, leveraging the app’s features to stream high-quality, low-latency video and audio with ease.

NDI HX Camera transforms your mobile device into a powerful tool for live production, compatible with platforms like MS Teams, Skype, Zoom, and more. Whether you’re enhancing your live broadcasts or adding dynamic perspectives to your presentations, this app provides seamless integration with your NDI-supported production system (NDI 4 or newer required).

  • Access the settings menu by tapping the gear icon. Here you can adjust various preferences such as bandwidth mode, sender name, and more.

  • Adjust to high, medium, or low based on your network’s capacity. Tap the meter icon to switch between resolutions. This allows you to optimize video quality to suit your streaming needs and network conditions.

  • Switch between the front and rear cameras by tapping the cycle button.

  • To mute your audio, tap the microphone icon.

  • The NDI logo will turn blue when your device is ready to send or receive NDI streams, indicating a successful connection.

  • There is an optional on-screen grid for composition assistance. Tap the grid icon to initiate a grid overlay on your video.

  • Turn on the camera’s flash by tapping the lightning bolt icon.

  • Adjust the brightness level by sliding the bars on the screen.

  • Use the zoom bar to zoom in or out.

  • The green light indicator allows you to monitor your connection and status for live streaming.
